What We Do
Sustainable & Regenerative farming
We are developing the farm using regenerative farming practices as we believe in producing coffee in balance with our surroundings
Research & Development
We do research in best organic practices but also very important we are developing new and innovative coffee processing methods using commercial and our own micro-organisms and yeast strains.
Training & Education
We share our knowledge with farmers from all over Colombia whom we invite to follow workshops to learn about sustainable farming practices, advanced fermentation and drying methods.
We are filling our 9Ha of land with with exotic high quality varieties only. We will share seeds of these trees with farmers we work with to help them increase their income.
But Finca Nogosco will also house a medium size washing station where we will process our own coffees as well as freshly picked coffee beans purchased from farmers in the region. We will produce 85/86+ regional lots and exceptional micro lots using advanced processing methods perfected by our own microbiology team.
Exotic Varieties
Most farmers in Colombia traditionally only have Castillo, Caturra and sometimes some Bourbon or Typica trees. In recent years many new or exotic varieties have gained traction in Colombia. We will plant varieties like Chiroso, Pink Bourbon Geisha, SL28, El Salvador, Pink Bourbon, Typica Mejorado and Sidra.
Exotic Fermentation Techniques
In our own Microbiology lab at the farm we work on developing new flavor profiles through fermentation techniques. We will use these techniques to produce exceptional micro lots.
High Quality Regional Lots
As we always have more demand than we can purchase of high scoring volume lots of washed, honey and natural process coffees, we will use the capacity of the washing station to produce this type of coffees at larger volumes using beans purchased freshly picked from neighboring farms.
